How to Use Gardlume™
1. Choose a Level Location
Position the tumbler outdoors on stable ground with enough space around the drum for full rotation.
2. Start With Dry Material
Add dry carbon-rich ingredients first to help create structure within the mixture.
3. Add Green Material
Add suitable kitchen scraps, fresh garden material and other accepted compost ingredients.
4. Close & Rotate
Secure the access door and rotate the drum several times to redistribute the materials.
5. Monitor & Mature
Check moisture and material balance periodically, then allow completed batches enough time to fully mature.
WHAT NOT TO ADD
Keep the Compost Mix Appropriate.
Typical backyard compost systems should avoid meat and fish scraps, dairy products, fats and oils, pet waste, coal or charcoal ash, plastic, glass, metal and other non-compostable materials.
Follow local composting guidance and avoid diseased plant material or chemically treated material when home composting conditions are not appropriate for processing it.
USE & CARE
Keep the Drum Moving Smoothly.
Keep the access door securely closed before rotating, avoid overloading the tumbler and check the frame and fasteners periodically.
Keep ventilation openings reasonably clear, clean the exterior when needed and use gardening gloves when handling compost material.
